All About You • This year Innovation Dublin intends to use social media more than ever before • We need your help in order to do this Benefits: • Greater promotion of your event • Opportunity to engage with event attendees • Creates a lasting footprint that is searchable, delivering traffic throughout the year • Makes it easier next year!

  8. What We’ve Done So Far • All Facebook event listings are sharable and contain: • Description text • Date & time • Link to a map • Option for people to indicate if they are coming along • A wall…

  9. What We’ve Done So Far • We intend to invest in some Facebook advertising to drive targeted traffic through to the events • Can target very specifically • Can reach an even wider audience • But budgets are limited!

  10. What We’ve Done So Far • Facebook Event Listings - Bookings • If your event has its own booking page or form, this is included on the FB event listing • If not, then we invite Facebook fans to click “Going” to indicate their interest in attending

  11. What We’ve Done So Far • Facebook Event Listings - Bookings • You can become an Admin on the event listing page and engage with people there via the wall OR • We will send you a list of people who have indicated they are coming to your event (2 days before day!)

What We’ve Done So Far • Facebook Event Listings – The Wall • Works similar to a Page wall • You can post on the wall to promote the event and generate some buzz about it • NB: when you post on an event wall, it gets straight into attendee’s notifications • After the event, we suggest adding pics from the event as they will go out to all the people who indicated they were coming. People love pictures on Facebook!!

You can upload, or send to us and we’ll do it for you. • Pictures can be liked, shared, and commented

What You Can Do • We invite you to promote the social media presence of Innovation Dublin at your event • Promote the Twitter hashtag: # • Encourage people at your event to live tweet • Tell everyone that slides will be available on slideshare • Take lots of pictures and put them on your Facebook event page • Instagram it! • Video it and add to YouTube AND An LarTV • 90 seconds it the ideal length for YouTube • Send it to us and we will upload to the channel for you • When tagged correctly, YT aids your search engine ranking

What You Can Do Don’t Forget : • Download the Innovation Dublin poster to display at your event • Include the Innovation Dublin logo in PR /event material Download from : http://www.innovationdublin.ie/festival/2012/resources/ • Include the following text in your PR : <Event name> is part of Innovation Dublin 2012 which take place across Dublin from 15th October to 26th October.  The festival demonstrates Dublin’s capacity to inspire, interact and innovate www.innovationdublin.ie
