Software There are 2 types of software • System software It helps you run the computer and manages the computer hardware and provides common services for efficient execution of various application software. Example Operating System: Windows • Application software Its the computer software designed to help the users to perform specific tasks. Examples: MS Word for creating handout, test paper, certificates, worksheets etc MS Excel for creating tabulation sheets, result analysis etc

  3. Internet Searching • Browser Its a software that is used to retrieve information from the WWW. Example: Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox • WWW It stands for World Wide Web, commonly known as the Web, is a system of interlinked hypertext documents accessed via the Internet. • Search Engines A search engine is designed to search for the information on WWW. Examples: Google, Yahoo, Google Crome

Internet Searching WIKI A wiki is a website that allows the easy creation and editing of any number of interlinked web pages via a web browser using a simplified markup language example www.gulshanprepgirls.pbworks.com Blog Blog (derived from web log) is a website that allows users to reflect, share opinions, and discuss various topics in the form of an online journal while readers may comment on posts. example 21classes.com

  5. Internet Searching Wiki: - Multiple Authors, - Edited by a group or team, - Contains links to other Wiki pages, - Continuously changing and growing rapidly, - Many-to-many communication. Blogs:- Usually a single author. Sometimes can have multiple contributors, - Author posts, user comments, - Opinion Sharing , - One-to-many content.

  7. Advance Search using + • You are telling Google to match that word precisely as you typed it. Do not put any spaces after or before that symbol. • Example Landscapes+Pakistan

  8. How to create folder? • Go to Desktop of Teachers Account • Right click new  folder  your name • Inside, create 4 new subfolders naming them: - "Word Processing“ - "Multimedia“ - "Spreadsheets" - "Action Plan“
