Word of the Day/Initial Activity • Reparations • the making of amends for a wrong one has done, by paying money to or otherwise helping those who have been wronged. • Answer these questions below based upon observations from the picture below • Describe what you see in this picture. • How might reparations help alleviate the suffering felt by slaves before the Civil War? • Discussion • Do you believe that reparations are an acceptable solution to the horror of generations of enslavement of African Americans?
