Pitching • Greg Maddux is the best pitcher ever. He has won 4 Cy-Young awards in a row a feat no one else has ever done. He had the lowest earned run average in the National League 3 years in a row. He is also a 3 time league leader in games won.
World Series • Greg wanted to win a World Series all of his life. When he started playing for the Braves he was better at pitching. It took him a few years but he finally achieved his dream.
Childhood • When he was a child he often moved from city to city because his dad was enrolled in the US Air Force. He often played with his brother (Mike) and his dad. When his dad was at work he played waffle ball with Mike. That is how he became good at baseball.
Highlights • June 4, 1984 he signed with the Chicago Cubs. • 1988 He made the National League All Stars. • He has made six career Gold Gloves. • In 1995 he was the player of the year. • Two consecutive seasons he lead the National League in shut outs. • In five consecutive seasons he lead The National League in total innings. • Late February of 1993 he arrived at the Braves spring training.
