  16. Some Definitions Robotics - The science or study of the technology associated with the design, fabrication, theory, and application of automatically guided (or autonomous) machines. Robot - An automatically guided machine which is able to do tasks on its own, almost always due to electronically-programmed instructions. Another common characteristic is that by its appearance or movements, a robot often conveys a sense that it has intent or agency of its own Embedded Systems - Computer systems designed to perform one or a few dedicated functions often with real-time computing constraints. It is embedded as part of a complete device often including hardware and mechanical parts. Mechatronics - The combination of Mechanical engineering, Electronic engineering, Computer engineering, Control engineering, and Systems Design engineering to create useful products.
