Shadows • We NEVER look directly at the Sun because it is dangerous • The Sun creates shadows. • If there is sunshine, there will be shadows. • Without the Sun, we would not have shadows. • If the Sun is shining behind us, we will see our shadows in front of us. • A shadow happens when an object (or a person) gets between the Sun and the surface of the Earth
The sun’s rotation • The Sun spins counterclockwise as seen from space above the Sun, with the Sun's North Pole being up. • Not all parts of the Sun rotate at the same speed. At its equator, it takes 27 days for the Sun to complete one rotation.
Energy • The light and heat from the sun is currently being using as solar energy • Solar energy technologies are helping to solve some of the most urgent problems the world now faces.
