  2. The situation • To keep up with her business documents, advertising with photos and contact customers via email • Her kids would need the computer for homework and social networking. • Money is tight, can’t cost too much.

  4. The chip • The chip for Helen’s recommendation is AMD Dual-Core Processor E1-1200 + AMD Radeon(TM) HD 7300 Series Discrete-Class Graphics. It is 1.4 GHz and since Mrs.Parr and her children are using it for basic stuff (no gaming or graphics), this chip should be decent enough. Proccesors/chips are really important for computers or laptops because it carries out instructions and depending on how many GHz it is, the bigger the number is makes it faster.

  5. RAM • A RAM serves as a storage medium for programs’ data. The large the size of the RAM, the program can run on the PC. • The RAM for Mrs. Parr laptop is 4GB but if she wants to she can upgrade it to 6GB with a cost of $50.

  6. HDD • The hard disk drive that HP 2000z-2c00 Notebook PC has is 320 GB. A hard disk drive is a storage for music, pictures, and etc. • The bigger HDD is the more you can store.

  7. DVD burner • The laptop came with a DVD burner which is SuperMulti 8X DVD+/-R/RW with Double Layer Support. However it does not come with a movie editor. • DVD burner are for burning DVDs, that is to say transferring a movie or a video clip on to the DVD. DVD burners can also play DVDs.

  8. Wireless Network • The wireless network card supports 802.11b/g/n WLAN but wireless access point and internet are required and sold separately. • Having network card is essential because without them, one cannot get onto the internet.

  9. Other • Some of the otherfeatures that this laptop has is having Windows 8 as the OS, Dolby theater v4, and it weighs 5-6 pounds.

  10. Price • The price of this is $349, but it varies if color is added to it. The other color that’s optional is blue but that cost $399.
