  9. Brantley County High School • Arrival to school • School begins at 7:55 AM • If arriving before 7:50 AM, students must report to the cafeteria or gym • Students cannot bring in food or drink when arriving to school • Students are not allowed to sit in their vehicles once they arrive on campus

Brantley County High SchoolAttendance Policy • A student cannot be absent more than 5 days (excused or unexcused) per semester • Once a student is absent for a 6th day in one class, the student must make up one hour per class in Saturday School. • A student must be in class 60 minutes to be counted present for class. • A student must be in class for 2 blocks to be counted present for the day.

Brantley County High School • Attendance Policy Continued • Example: A student misses 7 days in 1st block, 5 days in 2nd block, 6 days in 3rd block, and 9 days in 4th block. • The student has violated the attendance policy by 2 days in 1st block, 0 days in 2nd block, 1 day in 3rd block, and 4 days in 4th block • Students owes one hour in Saturday School for each day over 5 days • 2 + 0 + 1 + 4 = 7 hours in Saturday School

Brantley County High School • Teachers will check attendance for all students each Friday in Homeroom. • Once a student is absent 3 classes, the student will be called to the office and a parent/guardian will be notified. The attendance policy will be reviewed. • Once a student violates the attendance policy, the student will be assigned Saturday School.

  19. Brantley County High School • Students who have violated the attendance policy and do not attend Saturday School in a timeframe as agreed upon by the parent, student, counselor, and administrator; will not earn credit for the class(es) in which the attendance policy was violated.

  20. Brantley County High School • Students must be present the entire school day to be eligible for after school activities, competitions, or athletics. Students who have doctor’s appointments or encounter emergency situations the day of the competition will be referred to an administrator before participation in the day’s activity is granted.

Students who are late for Saturday School will be sent home and will not be given credit for attending Saturday School.

Brantley County High SchoolStudent Drivers • Students must have a permit to park on campus • $5.00 for a permit • The permit number will match the parking space the student will park in for the year. • Students will not park in front of the school or at the field house. • Students will park in the parking lots next to the Football Field and the Ag Barn.

  27. Brantley County High SchoolFood and Drink Policy • Only bottled water will be allowed in classrooms • Prohibited items inside the school include but are not limited to: Styrofoam cups, plastic cups, canned sodas, bottled sodas, bags of food, and/or candy.

  28. Brantley County High SchoolFood and Policy • If a student brings any of the prohibited food or drink items inside the school, the student will be asked to dispose of the items. Failure to dispose of the prohibited items will result in disciplinary action. • Students may bring their lunch from home, but no food is to be delivered from restaurants, friends, or family members during regular school hours. • Students cannot check out of school strictly to eat lunch.
