This study, presented by Dimitris Georgopoulos at the National Centre for Marine Research, examines the thermohaline circulation and dynamic features of the North Aegean Sea. Utilizing data from various meteorological conditions and water masses, including Black Sea Water (BSW) and Levantine Surface Water (LSW), the research highlights the seasonal variability and distribution of these water masses, along with current patterns and dynamic structures such as cyclones and anticyclones in the region. Key findings on water exchange rates and the evolving dynamics within the Aegean Sea are also discussed.
