On May 7, 2002, southern Kansas experienced a significant outbreak of severe thunderstorms, driven by favorable synoptic, thermodynamic, and shear conditions. This study presents a detailed analysis of the meteorological factors leading to the development of large supercell thunderstorms that produced destructive hail, high winds, and tornadoes. Key elements include a southern trough's influence, high CAPE values, and significant shear profiles. Findings -Found favorable synoptic, thermodynamic, and shear environments for supercell thunderstorm activity -In that environment supercell thunderstorms did develop in southern Kansas producing large hail, high winds, and tornadoes
