Position and Bords Palestine site in the western part of Asia, between 34.15 – 35.4 degree east of grnetsh line, And it forms the western south of the large geographical unit called alsham countries. Palestine borded by Lebanon and Syria from the north, Jordan from the east, Midditearian sea from the west, and Egypt and the Red sea from the south.

  3. Area and population Palestine area about 27000 km2, 5600km2 in west bank and 390km2 in Gaza strip. The rest of area is occupied by Israel. 2.9 million person live in west bank , 1.6 million in Gaza. Which forms the largest population density in the world. Palestine has variety geographical areas: 1. Range land 2. costal lands 3. Deserts ( alnaqab ) 4. Valley areas (around the dead sea) which form the lowest part in the world and very salty water.

  4. climate Palestine climate is a hot day in summer and fine rainy in winter. The average yearly rain fall is 200 – 250 ml in the valley aeries and 600 – 700 ml in the other areas.

  5. Agricultural Sector formed the base of the Palestinian economy. Agricultural accounted for about one third the GNP- GDP and 40% of employment of the Palestinian labor force especially at the last year The agriculture resources of the Palestinian territories are very limited . The total land area of the West Bank and Gaza strip amounts to 6210km2,

  6. Of which an estimated 1.880.000 dunums (31.7%) are cultivated, 1.900.000 dunums are range land and 260.000 dunums are forest land. Water Resources The water resources are also very limited and large share of them are still under Israeli control, isreal use 82% of Palestine ground water. This scarcity of the water resources has amagor impact on the Palestinian pattern of agriculture as the vast majority of the cultivated land is dependent on the rainfall whilst irrigated cultivation is to 4.6%.

  7. Animal Sector About the animal sector we have alimted number of cattle as a result of the high expensive of feed and limited area of grassing, so we have 33.235 from cattle, 828.678 from sheep, and 39213 from goat. (depending in 95% on concentrating feed)

  8. NARC Introduction: NARC is National Agricultural Research Center …was established in 1994 to conduct and coordinate agricultural research activities in Palestine. Temporary headquarter was in Jericho

NARC Role and Major Responsibilities of NARC • Planning, managing and implementing research programs that respond to the technical problems faced by applied research and extension. • Improving livestock and plant production for the benefit of farmers and other producers. • Conservation, preservation, and sustainable use of natural resources in order to Maintain ecological balance without jeopardizing environmental status.

NARC Role and Major Responsibilities of NARC • Technology Transfer Adopt new technology from local and/or other sources for improving agricultural production. • Establishing the facilities to store germplasm for crops and livestock • Serving as a scientific and technical resource for applied research and extension in Palestine

  25. Facts Our problem in Palestine and all developing countries not just how entering technology, for building up the strong agriculture sector which reflected at the country GDP. Our problem interested in the decision makers and there polices against the economy administration. In Palestine, the Israeli occupation stop building up the Palestinian economy and technology especially in agriculture.
