  7. 1. Kharif Prospects : Good harvest and no outbreak of insect pest and diseases. Rabi Assessment Good crop stand and no out break of pests and diseases. Good harvest is expected

  8. 2. National Food Security Mission Delhi is not covered under this scheme. 3. Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) Not yet decided to implement or not. 4. Extension T&V System is being continued. Extension Reforms has not yet became fully functional.

  9. 5. Seed (availability, treatment, testing) Availability : No difficulty in availability of seeds. Treatment : Being adopted but efforts to be made for treatment of all seeds before sowing. Testing : Delhi is having a notified State Seed Testing Laboratory for testing of samples.

  10. 6. National Horticultural Mission Being implemented and assisstance have been extended to the farmers: • Erection of Poly and Agro-net shed - 2 Nos. • Expansion of area under floriculture - 12 Hect. • Expansion of area under orchards - 26.80 Hect. • Setting-up small Nurseries - 15.44 Hect. • Bee-Keeping - 07 Nos. • Organising exhibitions - 02 Nos. (Flora Expo 2007 & Hort. Expo. 2008)

  11. 7. Marketing * Directorate of Marketing is looking after development of Marketing infrastructure in Delhi. * Major provisions under APMC Act have been amended. * The provisions in respect of following are under process of amendment. * Contact Farming * Participation of public * Spot Trading

  12. 8.Fertilizer (availability, testing, INM) i) Fertilizer availability no problem • No State Laboratory Utilizing facility of Central Quality Control for testing iii) INM : Being promoted

  13. 9. Best practices adopted by the states i) Public awareness programmes. • Green manuring, use of complex grade fertilizers & Micro Nutrients • INM • Use of Quality hi-yielding and Hybrid Seeds for better Seed Replacement Rate • Timely showing and crop rotation. • Judicious use of water, Drip & Sprinkler. • I.P.M. • Availability of Agricultural Credit.
