  2. CALENDAR

  3. AGENDA • Blane’s Midterm Presentation • This week we will start by working in pairs to go over all data that was collected last week. • Find your partner and go through each column identifying all conflicts/inconsistencies • Ask me how to resolve the conflict if you are unsure how to do so • When you are done collecting the data, post the FINAL spreadsheet on your class web page • Both students should do this – both should post the exact same file. • After your files are posted, we will begin the next step: adding up the data. • Each student is responsible for adding up 4 columns. You can do this as a team or individually, then meet to compare results. Each student should post your new spreadsheet with column totals on your class web page when you are done. • Once you are done, use the remaining class time to work on your visual mock-up 1st drafts • Remember, you need 2 different versions.

  4. AGENDA • Guest Speaker • Fred Delse from Yahoo! Will be here to talk web design, web development, and usablity.

  5. ASSIGNMENT Due Week 14 • Add up the totals for your assigned columns • After all data are collected, add up the totals for each of your assigned columns. • How to do it? • Once the updated MASTER spread sheet is posted containing all FINAL data, save it locally and rename it s2008_usabilityResearch_YOURNAME.xls. • Visit each of your columns and add up the results. I will show you how to do so in class and we will work on this in class. • Bring your spreadsheet to class next Monday. We will then consolidate all results and begin the next phase of the project: individual web site tasks.

  6. ASSIGNMENT Due Week 14 • Continue working on your visual mockups/redesigns • If you haven’t done so already, start redesigning the home page of your web site that you have been studying during the 1st half of the semester. • Post your first drafts in JPEG format on your class web page for an informal critique on April 16th!!!

  7. FINAL PROJECT • There are three primary parts to the final assignment: • Usability Group Research Project • You will all work as a team to collect data, analyze it, and update a web site that showcases all of the data and results. • Two Visual Mock-ups/Comps of your selected web site’s home page. • You will be redesigning the home page of the site that you have been studying during the first part of the semester. • You will be creating two (2) completely different designs. • Updated Digital Client Documentation Packet • Simply add a last page containing your 1st draft visual comps. Update the conclusion if necessary. Post it on your class web page.
