Carnivore flesh-eating animal Carnivores, such as lions and wolves, have four different sets of teeth suitable for eating meat: incisors for nipping and biting, sharp canine teeth for stabbing and holding prey, premolar teeth for cutting and slicing, and molar teeth for shearing flesh and crushing bone.

Voracious consuming or eager to consume great amounts of food; ravenous; having or marked by an insatiable appetite for an activity or pursuit; greedy: The giant panda appears to have a voracious appetite for bamboo, consuming around twenty-four pounds a day. This great amount of eating is due to the fact that pandas only digest about 12-13% of the bamboo they eat and need the large amount to get the proper nutrients.

  4. 3. Devour eat greedily; seize upon and destroy After being lost in the wilderness for four days with only berries and nuts to eat, Jesse wanted to devour all the food he saw upon his return to civilization but could not because his stomach had shrunk.
