Classroom Rules

1. Classroom Rules • Students are to bring all required materials and supplies to class each day. • . Students are to be in their seats, quiet, and ready to work when the tardy bell rings. • Students are to follow directions the first time they are given. • Students are to raise their hand to be recognized before speaking. • Students are to remain in their seats unless given permission to get up. • Students should not eat, drink, or chew gum in the classroom.

2. Homeroom Procedures • Once you are released to the 8th grade hallway, go to the restroom and your lockers prior to entering the class room. This is not time to socialize; handle your business and then enter the classroom. • Once you enter the classroom you can not leave without permission or a hall pass. • Homeroom is silent sustained time. • You may not talk. • You are allowed to read, complete homework assignments, or class assignments. *This process may be changed at anytime by the 8th grade team or your teacher.*

3. Entering Class After entering the room, students may not leave without permission. Students may not leave books and/or materials outside the classroom for any reason Upon entering, students should go to their assigned seats and prepare for class. Once you enter you can not exitwithout permission. Begin working on warm up &/ or follow any instructions ( written or verbal) given by the teacher. Exiting Class The teacher dismisses the class Not The Bell / Not the Announcements. Do not pack books to exit class until instructed to do so by the teacher or time keeper. Students will be dismissed by tables. Students are responsible for cleaning the area around their desks before leaving the room. Entering and Exiting Class
