  3. This year we have about 281 sixth, 262 seventh and 200 eighth graders at Lamar…56 Austin schools represented. There are 110 Highland Park students currently enrolled at Lamar. There were less than 25 three years ago. Lamar Grade Levels 6th, 7th, & 8th Grades Go Scotties!

  4. Our 6th graders are from these schools Go Scotties! Brentwood - 67 Gullett - 66 Highland Park - 43 Other (private, charter) -20 70% of 6th grade from Lamar neighborhoods 34 Elementary Schools represented in 6th grade

  5. 40% Economically Disadvantaged 6% African American 40% Hispanic 2% Other Race 3% Two or More Races 49% White 11% SPED 8% LEP 50% Female Demographics Go Scotties!

  6. This is our 2nd year as AISD’s middle school fine arts academy Lamar’s Fine Arts Academy is aligned with McCallum’s FAA Go Scotties!

  7. Band Orchestra Choral Music Dance Visual Arts Classical Guitar Theater Arts Digital Arts & Media (beginning 2014-15 school year) Fine Arts Academy Majors 30% of Lamar population is enrolled in the Fine Arts Academy Go Scotties!

Lamar Visual Arts Courses - Year-long Art 6 - Year-long Art 7 - Art I – this is a high school credit course that allows you to take any of the McCallum art courses in 9th grade McCallum Visual Arts Courses - Drawing/Painting - Jewelry/Fibers - Ceramics - Print making - Screen Printing - 2D/3D Design - Sculpture - AP Art History Fine Arts Academy Go Scotties!

  22. Q – Do I have access to all fine arts classes if I am not a member of the FAA? A – YES Q – What is the advantage of being a member of the FAA? A – Your strand teacher will act as your advisor and monitor your academic progress, attendance and discipline every grading cycle. You will always have a seat in your strand fine arts class. You will receive special recognition at your 8th grade advancement ceremony as a FAA graduate Q – May I apply for the FAA at any grade level? A – Yes Q- May I switch strands at any grade level?
