  2. 7.0 earthquake struck on January 12, 2010 at 4:53p.m. 300,000+ casualties. 3 million people in affected area. 200,000 buildings damaged. 1.2 million people homelessJanuary, 2010. 810,000 homeless, March 2011 (reduced due to damage assessment) USGS Shake Map of the affected area

  3. The Haiti National Palace and public buildings damaged after the earthquake.

  4. Damage Assessment and Yellow House Repair Programs • MTPTC /USAID/UNOPS Damage Assessment Program (400,000 objects assessed) • MTPTC Engineer and Mason Training Program (600 National Engineers) • PADF/OFDA/USAID Repair and Reconstruction • Red Cross/PADF Haiti Yellow House Repair Program • Partnering with World Bank, UNOPS, European Union, American Red Cross, Clinton Bush Haiti Fund

  5. Yellow House Repair Projects • 7,195 houses repaired to date by Miyamoto. • Average of 7 people live in a house. • Over 50,000 people left camps and return home due to these repairs. Miyamoto is partnering with Red Cross, PADF and USAID to rebuild homes in Haiti

  6. Construction Progress in Haiti • 60% to 70% of 10 mill m3 debris removed. • Over 30,000 houses repaired. • Over 5,000 masons, 600 engineers trained. • Over 20 Haitian contracting firms trained.
