  1. “Being Unified in Christ”A Study of Ephesians Ephesians 2:11-22

  2. While unity may not be a word we use to describe the world in which we live; unity must always be a word we use to describe the church in which we serve.

  3. Ephesians 2:11-22

  4. Jews and Gentiles are no longer separated, but are united together “in Christ” because of the Gospel.

  5. The Abrahamic Covenant was also a Messianic Covenant.

  6. There is only one people of God – one church!

  7. We are justified by faith not by works.

  8. Faith is not a New Testament concept.

  9. Faith has always been the ticket by which anyone receives God’s gift of salvation and eternal life.

  10. There is only one way to salvation; one way to be at peace with God; one way to be righteous before a holy God; and that one way is the person and finished work of Jesus Christ.

  11. Jesus’ blood alone is sufficient to reconcile all sinners to God.

  12. The Gospel is our only hope for being at peace with God and with one another.

  13. If we can’t be “one” as the church, then we will never reach this broken, hostile, racist, prejudice world with the Gospel.

  14. We share a common access to the Father through the Spirit.

  15. There is no hierarchy in the kingdom of God.

  16. We share a common citizenship of God’s household.

  17. The world likes to point out what makes people different, but God wants His church to be a picture to the world of what unites and makes people one.

  18. We share a common spiritual lineage and heritage.

  19. We are recipients of a faith that has been handed down from generation to generation.

  20. Jesus is the purpose and reason for which every local church/congregation exists.

  21. All of us are responsible, not for creating unity but for preserving unity.

  22. “A good father is one of the most unsung, unpraised, unnoticed, and yet one of the most valuable assets in our society.” Billy Graham

  23. God has given significant responsibilities to every father.

  24. A father is to… • Be a unifier in the home • Model the character of Christ • Love his wife as Christ loves the church • Pray for his family • Be committed to his wife and family • Be diligent in providing/protecting his family • Remain teachable before his Heavenly Father • Shepherd his family well

  25. We need the Lord.
