  7. Mud pot • Mud pots are caused by hydrogen sulfide dissolved in water which is heated by magma below and close to the surface. • This turns the water into sulfuric acid which dissolves mud into the water. • There is also continuously hydrogen sulfide bubbling up causing the mud to bubble.
