Comparative Analysis of ABGA and CBGA Methods in Adults at Imam Hossein Teaching Hospital
The study included 187 adult patients at Imam Hossein Teaching Hospital in Tehran, Iran, evaluating ABGA and CBGA methods. Arterial blood samples were collected using specific procedures; excluded patients had SBP below 80mmHg or received supplemental oxygen before sampling.

2. Material and Methods • Total 187 patients older than 18 years referring to the ED of Imam Hossein Teaching Hospital (Tehran, Iran) • ABGA • Arterial blood samples were taken after carrying out Allen test and explaining the procedure to the patients. A heparinized insulin syringe was used at an angle of 45° under aseptic conditions to take a 0.5-mL sample from the radial artery. The air inside the syringe was immediately evacuated to increase the accuracy of the test. • CBGA • a lancet was used to produce a cut 3mm in depth on the lateral side of the distal phalanx of the third finger of the hand under aseptic conditions. The first blood drop was wiped away, and a heparinized plastic capillary tube was used to collect 150 μL of capillary blood sample. • Excluded : SBP < 80mmHg, supplemental oxygen before sampling
