  2. Józef Ignacy Kraszewski(28 July 1812 – 19 March 1887) was a Polishfamouswriter, historian and a journalist. He was bornin Warsaw and broughtupin Romanów by his grandmother.

  3. Kraszewski is an artistwiththebiggestnumber of publishedbooks and poemin a history of Polishliterature. He wroteabout 200 novels and 150 novellas, shortstories and reviews.

  4. He is best known for his epic series of the history of Poland, comprising twenty-nine novels in seventy-nine parts. Some of his notable work: StaraBaśń(An Ancient Tale, 1876) Chatazawsią(The Hut Outside the Village, 1854)
