The East-West Interconnector Access Rules, established on March 11, 2011, outline critical project milestones and compliance with congestion management guidelines. Key milestones include government approval in March 2009, planning permissions secured by September 2009, and commencement of cable works in Wales and Ireland between 2009 and 2010. The access rules facilitate explicit and implicit auctions through a unified auction management platform for both EWIC and Moyle, ensuring a scalable solution for potential future interconnectors.
