ASCAT Sea Ice

This document presents a comprehensive analysis of sea ice conditions utilizing ASCAT data, focusing on the ice edge estimates derived using a Bayesian approach. The analysis categorizes sea ice into three classes: open water, open sea ice, and closed sea ice. The study highlights the methodologies employed on September 6, 2007, and references historical ASCAT and SSM/I data for enhanced ice analysis. Conducted by Lars-Anders Breivik during the IICWG-VIII conference in Frascati, this research aims to improve the understanding of sea ice dynamics in the Arctic region.
