Iraq UNDAF 2011 - 2014 • First for Iraq, reflecting strategic alignment with MDG-related priorities (NDP 2010-2014) • Harmonized with the national planning cycle • Fosters mutual accountability for UNDAF results (jointly developed and signed by GoI and UN) • National ownership and leadership (Preparation as well as implementation) • Developed around five priority areas with a set of development outcomes to be achieved by the UN and its partners during 2011-2014

Iraq UNDAF FUND • The Iraq UNDAF Fund is established to facilitate and streamline the provision of donor resources towards UNDAF implementation. • Guided by the Paris Principles on Aid Effectiveness, the governance mechanism for the Iraq UNDAF Fund will • Enhance government ownership • Facilitate alignment among donors, the UN and GoI for greater development and operational effectiveness

Governance Arrangements UNDAF Fund governance is based on the UNDAF coordination structures • UNDAF Steering Committee • Strategic guidance, oversight on programmes, fund allocation and use • Membership extended to two Donors representatives • UNDAF PWGs/ Sub-PWGs • Take programmatic and operational lead on planning, monitoring, reporting • Membership includes GoI, KRG, UN, Donors, I/NGOs (GOI, UN, NGOs and donors) - Programming

  17. Financial Status of the Iraq UNDAF Fund As of 25 November 2011, • Total contribution is USD 12,553,920 including: A. USD 484,731 from the Scottish Government B.USD 9,666,186 from the Government of Denmark C. USD 2,403,003 from the transfer of UNDG Iraq Trust Fund interest and returned/ unspent funds 17
