  4. Children your age require anywhere from 10-11 hours of sleep EVERY night!

  5. Getting enough sleep is critical - sleep loss has been linked to diseases like diabetes, heart disease, obesity, and depression.

  6. To sleep restfully: • Have a regular bed time. • Do not use the computer or watch TV right before bed. • Avoid sugar and caffeine in the evenings. • Regular exercise is helpful.

  7. Create a personal action plan to help you sleep better!

  8. Step 1 Record all activities done before bedtime, and how much sleep you’re getting each night.

  9. Step 2 Then, make a list of changes you can make to help you sleep better.

  10. Step 3 GET MORE SLEEP!!!!!!!

  11. If you still can not sleep after making changes to your bedtime habits, you may need to see a doctor or talk to an adult.

  12. Why is it good to get sleep? • What could you do to get more sleep? • MAKE YOUR OWN ACTION PLAN!!!
