  2. Birthday Henry Hudson was born in Englandon September 12, 1570.

  3. 1st Voyage In 1607, Henry Hudson tried to find a route to Asia. But just like Christopher Columbus he bumped into something which might have been Asia. This land is now North America. He traveled to this land on his boat, Goodhope. Unfortunately, the river he was traveling on became too shallow and he was forced to go back!!!!!

  4. The Last Voyage In 1610 Hudson went to the new land one last time. But this time he sailed on his ship, The Halfmoon.

  5. Death Finally, the tragic day came and Henry Hudson died. No one knows for sure when he died but they think that he died on June 22, 1611. ( that was the day he was mutinied) 

  6. Netherland’s Flag Henry sailed for the Dutch

  7. Why Hudson Is Important Hudson is important because he discovered and traveled through the Hudson River Valley. He went as far is what is now Albany. Without this very important discovery, we would not have found New York. That river valley is now known as the HUSON RIVER!

  8. Fun Facts Henry Hudson’s crew wanted to kill him for his land and money. He stood up for innocent people when they were mutinying him. His favorite color was blue because it reminded him of the ocean
