  1. Robot: Charlie Team Members Steven DeTardo Tom Pniewski Jeff Voigt

  2. Bio: Steven DeTardo • Second Semester Freshman • Currently a 2EE • Learned how much digital logic has an impact in controlling electronics. Also how PWM can be used to direct servos • I’d like to get involved with MIL and some of their projects. • Work for a company in the marine industry such as Mercury, Raymarine, Garmin or Volvo Penta and get involved with navigation systems • Get involved and manage your time

  3. Bio: Thomas Pniewski First year Engineering student. Used to be Mechanical, switched to Materials I learned cool ways to prank my roommates In the future I may take more EE classes I hope to be an engineer in the automotive industry, and plan to join some automotive clubs at UF Advice: Early Classes, not as fun as you’d think.

  4. Bio: Jeffrey M. Voigt • Freshman Engineering student • Rather interested in Chemical Engineering, former Industrial. • New found interest in EE • Will now look for Thomas Vermeer when I break my electronics • Play some intramurals, do it • Get money or die trying

  5. Design Methodology • Placed Charlie in maze to test sensor values • Made corrections to sensor sensitivity • Used all 3, Left, Front, and Right • CdS cell to stop in garage • Sensors helped prevent wall collisions • Leaving sensor values equal prevented wall collisions, however didn’t permit Charlie to complete the maze

  6. Wildcard Conclusions • Robotics can give a rewarding experience when solving problems. It can be as complex as you want to make it. It has infinite possibilities. • If you think you might like robotics this is the class for you. If you already do, you’ll appreciate it more.
