  2. Who are we? Playing2Win • a community technology center in Harlem • Membership is approximately 500 people. • Services • Open Access • Computer Classes and Workshops • Youth Projects and Adult Classes

  3. Our Mission Our goal is to create new economic, social, and educational opportunities for our members by combining access to technology with effective educational programs.

  4. What we hope to accomplish We are fighting to overcome longstanding divides such as illiteracy, poverty and discrimination and have found that technology opens the doors to new opportunities like never before. We have to ensure that everyone in the 21st century has access to the kind of information that can change their lives.

  5. Our Setup • approximately 40 Macintosh and PC computers • High speed Internet access (cable modem) • 2 laser printers for black and white printing and 2 inkjet printers for color printing • scanners, digital cameras, and digital video cameras

  7. How We Meet Mission Goals Collaboration is key. We play to our strengths by seeking out organizations to partner with that compliment our mission and can help to add richness to our programs and services.

  8. Case Study #1 The Center for Educational Options And P2W Literacy Project S.O.S: • Effective youth literacy programs. • Strong family involvement. • Expertise in curriculum design and technology integration.

  9. Case Study #2 Boys’ and Girls’ Harbor partner with P2W for the MSUB Program S.O.S: • The Harbor program was fully funded. • P2W had the needed science and technology resources .
