Bay-Arenac ISD Career CenterCurrent Events for February 2012 • Tuesday, February 7 – Jon Morosi – Guest Speaker for Career Center Students Jon is a national baseball writer for FOXSports.com and will present to Career Center students during their assigned session. His message is titled, “Today, Bay Region… Tomorrow, World (Series). • Friday, February 10 – Perfect Attendance Pizza Party Career Center students who achieved perfect attendance for the third marking period (Nov 28 – Jan 19) will receive a certificate and coupon for free pizza during the Pizza Party for their session (9:40 a.m. and 1:40 p.m.). • Wednesday, February 15 – FAFSA Financial Workshop for Seniors & Parents (6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.) Career Center students (daytime career & technical education seniors and evening Adult Education students) and their parents can attend a workshop and complete their FAFSA application on-line at the Career Center in the Health Technology/Medical Science Classroom #205. Delta College advisors and admission representatives plus Career Center counselors will be onsite from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. to provide assistance. The application will take approximately one (1) hour to complete. • Wednesday, February 15 or 16 – FFA Regionals Career Center students who qualified at the district competition level will travel to Ubly, MI, to compete against approximately 12 other schools in our region. Good luck to all the students! • Friday, February 17 – Mid-Winter Break Career Center is closed – no staff or students. • Friday, February 24 – Skills USA Regionals Career Center students who qualified at the district competition level will travel to Delta College to compete among approximately 350 students from about 10 other schools in our region.
