The mihrab, typically located on the qibla wall, indicates the direction to Mecca. Renowned examples include the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem, the Great Mosque of Córdoba in Spain, and the Alhambra in Granada, showcasing stunning architectural brilliance from the 8th century onwards. The Taj Mahal in India, built by Shah Jahan for his beloved Mumtaz Mahal, is also a significant masterpiece of Islamic architecture.
