  6. What Will We Be Doing in Math? • We use Connected Mathematics 2 Curriculum. 13. Expectation #1 • Be in your seat, filling out agenda in your planner when tardy bell rings with all of your supplies ready. (i.e. pencils sharpened) • If you are not in your seat when the tardy bell rings, you are late!!

  14. Expectation #2 • After your planner is filled out with Daily Objective, Class work, and Homework you should begin your “bellringer” activity.

  15. Expectation #3 • Bring all of your materials for class and take them with you when you leave.

  16. Expectation #4 • Treat everyone in this room and their materials with respect and dignity.

  17. Expectation #5 • Do not whine or offer excuses.

  18. Expectation #6 • Follow the procedures and policies of CMS and Anderson County Schools.

  19. Severe Clause There are certain instances when a student will be sent to the office immediately (i.e. fighting, bullying, etc.)

  20. Classroom Procedures

  21. Procedure #1 • You will line up outside my door (on the right) until I open the door to let you in the room. Do not enter the room unless the teacher or other adult is in the room.

  22. Entering the Room • Enter the room quietly. • Sharpen your pencil if necessary. • Sit in your assigned seat. • Review the agenda. • Fill out agenda in planner. • Start working on the bellringer activity.

  23. If you are tardy… 1st - Report to Ms. Webber (ISS) to get a late pass. 2nd - Give me the late pass. 3rd - Get busy on your work. 3 tardies will result in isolated lunch.

  24. Turning in papers… • When you finish your daily work, exit ticket, bell ringer etc. you will turn it into the designated basket on the back table.

  25. Classroom Discussions • You must participate! I want to hear what you have to say, and your classmates do too! • Make sure comments and questions are on topic. • Do not talk over each other. Use common courtesy. • Raise your hand and have patience during whole group discussion. • Discussion Group Roles may be assigned if deemed necessary.

  26. Moving around the room during instruction… • You must ask permission. • Do not ask during discussion/teaching time unless it is an emergency.

  27. Leaving the room… • You will be given three restroom passes during each nine week period. You will not receive anymore than this. Use them wisely! • If an absolute, extreme emergency, you must ask for teacher permission, and it is at teacher discretion.

  28. Class Dismissal… • I will dismiss you from class, NOT the bell. • Do not pack up early because it is distracting. • Wait until I officially dismiss the class.

  29. Some quotes to ponder… “Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude.”Thomas Jefferson “The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather a lack in will.”Vince Lombardi “Everyone has a fair turn to be as great as he pleases.”Jeremy Collier
