  3. Abaixo: below, downstairs • Acima: above, on top, upstairs • acolá: there, yonder • adiante: ahead, foreward • Além: beyond, past, yonder • algures: somewhere, wherever • ali there: yonder • antes: before • Aonde: where ... to • Aquém: from this side • Aqui: here

  4. Debaixo: underneath • defronte: in front of • dentro: within • Detrás: behind, after • fora :outside • Lá: there, yonder • longe: away • Nenhures: no where onde: where • Perto: near

  5. Example of sentences • - The tragedy happened right here (a tragédia aconteceu bem aqui) • - The party will be on my house (a festa será em minha casa) • - The TV is inside the box (a TV está dentro da caixa)

Posição dos advérbios de lugar • (a)Nunca se coloca um advérbio de lugar entre o sujeito e o verbo.(b)Quando uma frase emprega mais do que um advérbio de lugar, começa-se pelo advérbio 'mais pequeno' seguido do próximo advérbio 'maior':John lives in a small flat in London.O João mora num pequeno apartamento em Londres.Mary studies in a language school in London, England.A Maria estuda numa escola de línguas em Londres, na Inglaterra.(c)Quando o advérbio de lugar for empregue com outros advérbios (por ex. de modo, de tempo), coloca-se o advérbio de lugar a seguir ao advérbio de modo e antes do advérbio de tempo:
