AGS Cold Snake Status Update: Preparing for Full Testing and Physics Ramp

The AGS is currently in cold snake status, with cryogenic work underway to ensure operational capabilities. A cool-down is expected to initiate before Friday night, leading to low-level testing once the magnet reaches its target temperature. Full testing is planned, and the team is on track for a delivery estimate by March 30, potentially a few days earlier. Preparations for the RHIC 100 GeV physics ramp and following BPM checks are also ongoing, with all scheduled milestones being met.

  1. Status on AGS cold snake • Everything is buttoned up. Cryo work today to make it operation. Expect the cool-down starts before Friday night. • Low level testing once the magnet is cooled • Full testing • Ready to deliver • Estimate still holds for March 30. Could be a couple of days earlier if everything goes smoothly. Wednesday Experiment Meeting BNL, Upton

  2. Status of AGS • Pp accelerated in the AGS with warm snake. Injection polarization was measured as 80% with the E880 polarimeter • Commission the AGS CNI polarimeter • Setup the rf dipole driven coherences at the 4 strong resonances • Set up proper tunes and chromaticity • Check the timing • AGS injection matching Wednesday Experiment Meeting BNL, Upton

Status of RHIC • A ramp for Physics at 100GeV is prepared(pp21) • Preparing pp22 for the 200GeV ramp • BPM Plans • Fix the snake and rotator bpms during the access time • BPM integrity checkup • goal: to get rid of all missing wiring problem • Double check the DX bpms at IP12 for Jet and BPMs for CNI polarimeter • CNI polarimeter: on schedule • H Jet polarimeter: on schedule Wednesday Experiment Meeting BNL, Upton
