This report details the current status of the AGS/Booster operations as of June 4, 2013. The polarized beam for RHIC continues to be provided, with low energy protons (5.86 GeV) successfully extracted to the W dump at an intensity of 9 x 10^10, ready for the upcoming APEX. While significant progress has been made in down ramp development, with notable beam intensity achieved, some beam loss occurred. Additionally, new timing functions for tune jumps have been evaluated. Key contributors to the advancements include Keith for AGS setup and Freddy for RF support.

Status • Continue to provide polarized beam for RHIC operation. • The low energy (5.86GeV) has been extracted to the W dump with intensity as high as 9*1010, ready for APEX tomorrow. • Down ramp development: we have beam decellerated to injection with 1.4*1011, but some beam is lost on the ramp. The vertical tune near injectionon the down ramp still need to be tuned. • Another set of tune jump timing was derived. Statistically, there is no difference from currently used timing function. • New type of AGS IPM (eIPM) continues. Haixin Huang
AGS Polarization for RHIC 70 Average of last one week is 72%. The asymmetry from 90 deg. detectors fluctuated a lot, probably due to extensive uses. Haixin Huang
Low Energy Proton Setup is Ready 1. The low energy (5.86GeV) proton is ready. 2. The intensity of 9*1010 has been reached at W-dump, more than what is required for the APEX (5*1010) . 3. Only one G10 module is timed in the right window for this low energy. Key people for the work: Keith for the AGS setup; Kevin, Freddy and Tom for RF; Vincent and Greg for the AtR setup. Haixin Huang
AGS Down Ramp Development It will be used for polarization and emittance measurements. Keith got beam survived down to injection, after Freddy’s transition code change. Haixin Huang
