Getting to know each other • Toss around the disks while the music plays • When the music stops you should have only 1 disk • Get into a group with the other people who have the same colored disks as you • Talk to your group while the music plays and find two things you all have in common. Curriculum • This is one of a small number of classes throughout the state of Florida developing a new 7th grade social studies curriculum. • This curriculum has been adopted by the state of Florida for use in 2012 and was developed by the Florida Joint Center for Citizenship through collaboration with the University of Central Florida, and The University of Florida. • At this time there is no at home textbook for this course. www.mrharbaugh.com

Grading Policy • Each assignment is worth a point value. • The points a student earns on a given assignment are divided by the total points the assignment is worth to determine a percentage and letter grade. www.mrharbaugh.com
Grading Policy • Student’s final grades are found by dividing the points each student earns by the total possible points in the grading period. • For example, a student who earns 300 points in a grading period when 350 points were possible will earn an 85% B for the grading period. (300/350= .85 = 85% = B) www.mrharbaugh.com
Homework • One or two homework assignments a week. • posted on the homework link at www.mrharbaugh.com. • If a student does not have internet access he or she may get a hard copy of the homework assignment. www.mrharbaugh.com
Late Work • The due date for each assignment is posted at the assignment sheet link at www.mrharbaugh.com and on the assignment sheet posted in the classroom. • Assignments turned in after the due date will be graded, and then the score will be reduced by 50% as a penalty. After 5 days no credit will be given. • The only exception is excused absences. www.mrharbaugh.com
