  1. How To Care Your Pool This Winter

  2. During Winter Season • People don't often swim during winter times and most of them opt to close it down for winter. • Before shutting down, ensure you take proper measures, so your pool doesn't get damaged during its hibernation period

  3. Clean Your Pool • Clean your pool regularly, at least every couple of weeks. • Brush the floors and the walls. Make sure that the filter system works properly.

  4. Balance Your Pool Water • The pool’s pH level needs to be between 7.2 and 7.6 • We can easily check by taking a water sample from elbow deep and adding the appropriate treatment to bring the pool to the correct level.

  5. Check The Chlorine Levels • To keep your pool clean and clear, it’s important to keep your pool’s free available chlorine levels at a constant level of 2-3 PPM at all times during winter. • If you’re using a salt water chlorinator, turn it to about 60-70% output. Overuse of chlorine can also ruin the swimming pool.

  6. Clean The Filter • Ensure that the pool’s filter is sparkling clean, as any grease or oil deposits will harden over Winter and make the filter harder to clean in the warmer months, not to mention reducing its overall efficiency. • To clean contaminants from the filter, you’ll need to backwash the filter.

  7. Cover Your Pool With a Pool Cover • A pool cover will helps to prevent debris, and dirt's entering into the swimming pools. • By covering the pool, you can save alot that have been spending for maintaining your pool. • This means less cleaning for you and less food for algae and bugs to feed on

  8. Conclusion • Remember, when it comes to pool maintenance, a little bit of work everyday will save you A LOT of work and money one day. • For best pool covers in Australia, visit: https://www.sydneycitypoolcovers.com.au/
