Department of Field Support (DFS) The Department of Field Support(DFS) is to provide support to United Nations field operations in the areas of personnel, finance, logistics, communications, information technology and other administrativeand management issues. UN DFS Logistics Support Division Scale of Effort • 122,033 peacekeepers deployed in 18 DPKO-led Missions • 17 DPA-led Special Political Missions • 22,437 civilian staff of which 2/3rd are national staff • 270 aircraft, 17350 vehicles, $1.25m of fuel consumed daily • 20 hospitals and 284 smaller clinics • 11m liters of water provided daily • 300 MW power generated daily • 85,000 phone calls/24 hours and 3.5M emails/month. • 449 satellite earth stations deployed. • 40,000 desktops, 2,800 servers, 10,000 radios. • 250,000 job applications received last year. • Current peacekeeping budget is $7.26bn
