Progress • Feedback from Allen revisions to GUI code • Continuing to work on write-up, user’s manual draft • Tested with PCB—saw increasing x-ray counts when LED voltage varied (see next slide) • Found that op-amps w/ current output need heat sink for best performance • Able to see general effects of changing voltages, but due to MCA time resolution, we can’t see ~100 Hz pulses replicated

  3. MCA readings • LED pulsed with 0 to 3.5V square wave; variable pulse width

  4. Next steps • Primary: • Email Keith to check in • Continue GUI work • Look into heat sink for op-amp, revise PCB • Secondary: • Finish write-up of report/user’s manual • Box implementation • Improvements
