This document summarizes a meeting regarding system requirements, focusing on relative output and specific measurements for LED temperatures. Key points included the confirmation of HK details, discussions around fiber couplers and GUI work, and the necessary steps to integrate USB connections with PIC microcontrollers. The outline for necessary code structure was discussed, including taking measurements, sending data via USB, and processing user inputs. Recommendations for component identification and circuit layout were also outlined, along with initial steps towards a detailed design using precision resistors and temperature measuring components.

Meeting with Keith • Better understanding of system requirements • Emphasis on relative output • Confirmed HK details to be measured • Temperature of LED is important • Ideas for LED temperature measurements • Fiber couplers
PIC work • Bare outline of code needs 0. Include libraries 1. Define variables used 2. Initialize pins (clear PORTA, PORTB, configure pins as inputs vs. outputs) 3. Actual code a. Take in measurements from the circuit (2x voltage for DC-DC current, 2x voltage for DC-DC voltage, 1 voltage for LED current, 1 voltage for LED voltage, temp. sensor input) b. Send measurements to USB connection c. Read user inputs from USB connection d. Output voltages corresponding to these user inputs • Researching USB to PIC connection • Advice?
Next steps • Create a detailed PERT chart based upon descriptions from Keith • Use specifics from Keith (LED datasheets, etc.) to ID components so that we can begin detailed designs • Precision resistors to measure current with (current plan: measure voltage across resistor in series with component to determine current—other ideas?) • Temperature measuring components • Look into how to check that the x-ray output is correct (how MCA works—look at site (esp. intro information))
