- Common Nouns city day ocean street book apple dog
- Proper Nouns A proper noun names a specific person, place, or thing.
- Proper Nouns Sacramento Thursday Pacific ocean Amsterdam Avenue Florida Ocala Pride and Prejudice Tammy
- Plural Nouns A plural noun refers to more than one person, place, thing or idea.
- Plural Nouns For words that end in –x, -ch, -sh, add an es. Examples: box/boxes fox/foxes church/churches ranch/ranches bush/bushes
- Plural Nouns For words that end in a consonant plus y, change the y to an I and add –es. Examples: pony/ponies fly/flies butterfly/butterflies
- Plural Nouns Some words that end in –f or –fe have plurals that end in – ves. Examples: calf/calves knife/knives
- Plural Nouns The plurals of some nouns are different words. Examples: goose/geese mouse/mice
- Plural Nouns Some plural nouns remain the same. Example: fish/fish

- Concrete Nouns Concrete nouns name people, places, or things that can be perceived by the five senses. Examples: child dog street Jeff apple
- Abstract Nouns Abstract nouns name ideas, beliefs, qualities, or concepts. Examples: freedom childhood love kindness truth
- Possessive Nouns Possessive nouns show ownership or belonging. They end in ‘s or s’. Examples: child’s coat freedom’s appeal
- Vivid Concrete Nouns Vague Specific She cooks good stuff for me. She cooks lasagna, fried chicken, and blueberry muffins for me.
- Vivid Concrete Nouns Vague Specific He likes rides. He likes roller coasters and water slides.
