Frog and Toad • This week we read Frog and Toad Are Friends. • Did you know that there are many similarities and differences between frogs and toads?
Skin • A frog has smooth, moist skin • A toad has rough, bumpy skin
Habitat (where they live) • A frog lives mostly in or near water • Do you think toads swim?
Toad • Sometimes toads will go into water • They spend most of their time on land
Swimming • Frogs are fantastic swimmers • Toads aren’t as good because they have shorter, less powerful back legs!
Jumping • A frog hops and makes very long jumps • A toad walks instead of jumping
Heat • Both frogs and toads avoid direct sunlight • They don’t like the heat
Activity • Frogs and toads like to do things at night and on rainy days • Can you guess why?
Correct • They don’t like sunligh!
Vision • Frogs and toads both have bulging eyes • Do you think they have good vision?
They both have amazing vision! • It must be those big eyes!
