  2. Highlights (Q3/2007) • Aluminized DX for the second time • The coating did not pass the tape test • The process did not pass the “keep liquids out of the mirror cell” test LBT Q3 2007 Engineering Review

Open Issues • Technical • Documentation for Aluminization System from OSU improved but needs more work • Upgrade of Aluminization System • Cleaning/Stripping System • Glow discharge ? • Locking devices unreliable • Crane needs to move ~1 meter farther forward to safely clear adaptive secondaries • M3 swing arms need to be retracted farther than normal to clear belljar • LBT personnel can do most of the process now, as long as nothing goes wrong • Something always goes wrong • Schedule • Aluminize SX August 08 (not 17 Aug) • Financial • None • Resources • How much effort do you put into medium priority tasks?
