How to figure out if something is a conflict ASK YOURSELF: • Are there two sides to the argument? • Are there two people or things arguing? • Is the person debating inside with his/her feelings?
Which one is a conflict? • The young girl is sad because her boyfriend broke up with her. • The young girl argued with her boyfriend and they broke up.
Which one is conflict? • The teacher failed the students without homework. • The teacher and students had a disagreement about the homework.
Which one is conflict? • Lizmarie hates Jeovanny because he is tall. • Luis is always fighting with Neyshalie in class.
Internal vs. External • Carlos was upset because he wanted to dance but also was embarrassed. • Alan kept arguing with Mr. Beninato because he didn’t want to eat lunch.
Internal vs. External • Bianca keeps arguing with Shelsea because she wants her boyfriend. • Jonathan is stressed because he knows he will fail but is lazy and doesn’t want to do his homework.
