Progress Update on E-906/SeaQuest Installation and Facility Improvement (Dec 2009)

This report details the progress made on the E-906/SeaQuest installation in NM4 as of December 14, 2009. Key updates include the successful cleaning of the loading dock areas by John Voirin's PPD team and the current status of the NM4 hall which is cluttered with scaffolding and remnants of previous experiments. Legacy equipment has been mostly removed, and preparations for new installations, such as the Analysis magnet's relocation and chamber tests, are underway. A transformation of the hall into usable space is set to finish this week.

  3. NM4 (KTeV) Hall layout—Winter 2008/9 Current status of NM4 (KTeV Hall) • Scaffolding/supports everywhere • Left over ruins of a previous grand experiment • Tourists visit it occasionally • Site has been scavenged for valuable material, waste bins to throw the rest away. Paul E. Reimer

NM4 Progress • Hall has been emptied of most legacy equipment. • Survey of NM4 to mark new location of Analysis magnet and chambers started today. • CsI Hut has been removed (essentially in one piece!). • Downstream section of KTeV vacuum tank was removed last week. • 30T SM-12 iron has been cut into 15T pieces for installation.
