Trustees of the PropertyLegal/Secular Leadership Responsibilities • Responsible for the purchase, sale, and maintenance of all Diocesan property • Control all trust and permanent funds belonging to the Diocese or any unincorporated parish, mission, or institution of the Diocese • Invest and administer all trust and permanent funds through the Diocesan Investment Board & provide oversight of the Diocesan Investment Board

  4. BishopEcclesiastical & Canonical Leadership Ex Officio Member of all Diocesan Committees, with all rights of membership, except for Standing Committee

  5. Standing CommitteeEcclesiastical & Canonical Leadership Membership • Three Clerical and three Lay Members elected by Convention • Committee elects a President and Secretary

  6. Standing CommitteeEcclesiastical & Canonical Leadership Responsibilities • Serves as council of advice to the Bishop • Exercises Ecclesiastical Authority in the vacancy or disability of the Bishop • Acts according to Canons in the selection, examination & certification of persons seeking holy orders • Supervises secular legal functions as prescribed by Canons • Advises on diocesan personnel decisions

  7. Diocesan CouncilEcclesiastical & Canonical Leadership Membership • Bishop, Diocesan Treasurer, Deans and Vice Deans • Two Clergy and two lay persons (at large) elected by Convention • A member of Standing Committee appointed by Standing Committee

Diocesan CouncilEcclesiastical & Canonical Leadership Responsibilities • Reviews Diocesan programs and goals; serves as Diocesan planning group • Determines the Fair Share Policy • Has charge of, and is the Convention of the Diocese ad interim for planning, coordination, and development of the Diocesan mission • Prepares and proposes annual budget to Convention

  9. Treasury Committee(Subcommittee of the Finance Committee) Membership • Bishop • Diocesan Treasurer • North and South Deanery Representation: • Investment Board Liaison • POB Chair • Budget Development Team (3) • Audit and Communication Team (4)

  10. Treasury Committee(Subcommittee of the Finance Committee) Responsibilities • Attend to the financial matters under the portfolio of the Diocesan Treasurer • Address concerns that have been raised at Deanery meetings and Diocesan Convention to ensure support for the mission of the Episcopal Church in the Diocese of the Rio Grande
