  3. Inclusive Volunteering • Group Discussion • Who do you think might be an excluded volunteer?

  4. Benefits of Inclusive Volunteering • Benefits for volunteers • Benefits for clients • Benefits to the organisation

  5. Barriers • What are the barriers to inclusive volunteering? • Write your ideas on the ‘bricks’ that are on your table.

  6. Using Post Its • One idea per post it • Only write with a felt tip pen • Maximum 5 words per post it • Print the words- use upper case • All spelling is correct

  7. Overcoming the Barriers • In your groups discuss the issues that came up on the bricks. • How will you overcome these issues? • Record your ideas on the flip paper

  8. Opportunities • Describe a volunteer role that you need to fill. • Complete the role description template.

  9. Case Studies • Which of the volunteers could take on this role? • What reasonable adjustments could an organisation be expected to make?

  10. Placement Plan • Consider what needs to be put into place to make this an effective placement.

  11. Mentoring and Support • Volunteers who provide support and guidance for the inclusive volunteering project working one to one. • Training and support for host organisations.

  12. Action planning • What commitment can you make in your current workload to developing inclusive volunteering? • Using the action plan provided record what you will achieve by 31st December 2011.
