  2. Pinterest • Pinterest is a tool designed for discovering new interests. Using this search tool, the opportunities are endless. Created in March of 2010 this search tool is frequently used amongst internet users. Pinterest can be used to organize a specific collection of articles, pictures, recipes, etc. that inspire you.

  3. Mastering the tool Pinterest is a tool that has a lot to offer its subscribers. Using this tool frequently will help you use Pinterest successfully.Pinterest is designed to help you categorize all different thoughts and ideas you find on the internet. First you create an account, with your account you can access millions of different articles, pictures, etc., that other internet users have shared. When finding something that peaks your interest you have the option to select the item and “pin” it to a board. The board you create will be a category for the item you have searched, you may name this board as you please. This feature of Pinterest is a way to organize your thoughts and ideas. Pinning an item to your board will forever remain there, you do not run the risk of losing, or forgetting. With this tool you also have the opportunity to upload your own creations, giving other internet user’s the chance to pin or save your work. Pinterest also offers many other features, such as sending the items to someone else, just simply liking a picture, or sharing the items on various social networking sites.

  5. Pinterest can be implemented into a lesson plan to expose a classroom to beneficial technology resources. For example, teachers can create a board full of visuals, articles, etc., the students would then be able to create their own account and follow their teacher’s board. While following the teachers board the students are learning new information about the topic in a variety of different ways.

  6. 21st Century Teaching • Pinterest will be used to support the framework for 21st century teaching and learning in multiple ways. Pinterest offers resources for both students and instructors. The instructor will be able to both see ideas from other educators, and implement those ideas in their lesson plans, or simply share their activities with other instructors. Students will use this tool to learn new information, explore their imaginations, and see a wide variety of different topics.
