  2. Background • Ignatius of Loyola was born in Basque Country, Spain in 1491 • He was born as a Aristocrats then later became Catholic. He became a servant of God after he became deathly sick and God saved him. • Soon later he went and worked with Pope Paul III

  3. What He Thought Was Wrong • He saw that the church wasn’t listening to the Pope or following the rules. • He later created his own religious group Jesuits. • Jesuits was his Society of Jesus

  4. New Worship • His home base became Rome • The Pope and God should be the top leaders of the church. • Also he thought the people of the church should mainly listen to the Pope

  5. Interesting Facts • When he was in a war his leg got wounded and his other leg broke. The doctors increased his injuries and made it worse. After 9 months of healing and being blessed with the Annonting of the Sick he dedicated his life to God.
