  2. How moths & butterflies grow Butterflies and moths both go threw a complete metamorphosis. Adult females lay eggs and the young one emerges out of the egg. When they come out of the egg it is called a caterpillar. Caterpillars grow very fast. Then the caterpillar’s turn into a pupa. A couple weeks later it comes out of the pupa and is a butterfly.

  3. What butterflies & moths look like Monarch butterflies are orange and has black borders. It also has little white spots on the borders. Monarchs blend in with the environment around them. Moths are grey and white. Moths are also dull and brown.

  4. What moths & butterflies eat Moths and butterfly caterpillars eat leaves and flowers pollen. Some types of moths caterpillars eat fruit and seeds. A very few caterpillars are carnivores. Adult butterflies drink nectar and sap. They sometimes eat mud for minerals.

  5. How long do butterflies & moths live Most moths and butterflies live for almost a whole year. Some live for 2-3 years. Some moths and butterflies only lives for a couple months. Only a handful of caterpillars can live through the winter. The caterpillar is buried
