Addition to Original Project Scope • Scope • Review Chapters 10 and 20 of VDOT’s manual “Design Aids and Typical Details” • Recommend specific text changes, where possible, to implement IAB research results in VDOT practice • Collaboration • Worked with VDOT and VCTIR engineers to develop presentation style and content for first three items • Prepare remaining items • Review by Tommy Cousins, VT structural engineer • Revise and submit to VCTIR

  4. Format and Content for Each Recommended Modification • Topic • Location in VDOT’s manual • Application to type of IAB • Current manual status • Discussion of impact of IAB research on the topic • Recommended modification to manual
